Release Notes
BGMP 2.0
Here, we present BGMP 2.0 - an expanded update that builds on the 1.0 framework by enriching its variant annotation library with 7 ABO alleles, 1 H allele, 2 ATPC alleles, 2 MAL alleles, an additional 25 CD36 variants (22 belonging to the red blood cell group system and 3 platelet-associated ones), 1 KEL variant, 3 RHAG variants, and 18 human neutrophil antigens (HNAs). This targeted expansion addresses gaps in multi-system blood group coverage, unifying more comprehensive allele information under its standardized data framework.
BGMP 2.0 retains the 1.0 features (allele profile visualization, phenotype-frequency correlation, functional prediction, etc.) while enhancing data depth for key blood group/immunity systems. It strengthens support for clinical transfusion safety assessment and biomarker discovery for immune-related diseases, reflecting advances in blood group immunogenetics data curation.
Database paper published online
BGMP: a comprehensive database of human blood group gene mutations and phenotypes, published in Journal of the Formosan Medical Association.
BGMP 1.0
BGMP database has been officially released as version 1.0 and is publicly accessible.
Initial data integration
Data from 125 relevant studies retrieved from PubMed, as well as resources from ISBT, BGMUT, Erythrogene and Versiti-HPA databases, have been standardized and integrated into BGMP 1.0.
